Then a photography course is a quick way to learn. In this article you read what you learn in one day, who the course is for, what it costs and where it takes place.
What do you learn in one day?
The course is mostly practice. You work indoors in the studio where Arda photographs every day, and outdoors with daylight. This is what we cover:
- Seeing and shaping light: daylight and studio light, and what soft or hard light does to your photo.
- Mastering your camera: aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focusing, so you decide what your photo looks like.
- Composition and background: how to build an image, what to leave out and how the background strengthens your subject.
- Putting people at ease: giving directions, natural poses and working with children and families.
- Working in a real studio: you practise with arches, curtains and sets like the ones we use for our shoots.
- Photographing outdoors: working with daylight, shade and the surroundings as a background.
Who is the photography course for?
You do not need any experience. Arda adapts the programme to your level and to what you want to learn. The course suits:
- Beginners who want to understand what their camera does.
- Hobby photographers who already shoot but do not yet get what they have in mind.
- Entrepreneurs who want to make good images themselves for their website and social media.
- Parents who want to photograph their own children and family more beautifully.
Which camera do you bring?
Bringing your own camera is not required, but you are welcome to. We also have cameras you can use during the course. That way you can follow the course even if you do not have a camera yet and first want to try what suits you.
Editing photos in Adobe Lightroom
A good photo is not made with the camera alone. That is why you also learn to work with programs such as Adobe Lightroom: selecting photos, adjusting colour and light and creating a finished result.

Arda Genc has been a photographer for more than ten years and is the founder of Photostudio62. He photographs pregnancies, babies, cake smash, children, families, weddings and business portraits. Where does the course take place?
The course takes place in our photo studio in Poeldijk (ABC Westland 259, 2685 DC), in the Westland near The Hague, and part of the day outdoors on location. Participants come from all over the Netherlands. Parking is free, read more in our article about free parking at the studio.
